Dr Benjamin Lourie qualified at WITS with a BDS in 1975 and has been with the practice since 1988, after working in London and Johannesburg.  
 
His specialist fields include the following:  crown and bridge work, veneers, implants, dentures, root canal therapy, white fillings, extractions as well as bleaching.   He also does his own scale and polishing. Treatment under sedation can also be arranged with a qualified anaesthetist.

Dr Paul Abramowitz Specialising in Periodontics and Dental Implant Surgery. Dr Abramowitz obtained his Doctorate in Dental Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania USA. He went on to complete his American Certification and Specialty in Periodontics in 1990 at the same University where he was later appointed to the teaching faculty as an Assistant Professor of Periodontics .

Here and at Temple University, where he held an Associate Professorship, he taught Periodontics and Implant Dentistry, in the Post Doctoral Departments of Periodontics, and served on the implant teams at both Universities.

He returned to South Africa in 1993 to continue his Private Practice and has lectured and published locally and internationally. With over 20 years experience in the surgical field of Dental implants, Paul remains passionate about providing the highest current  level of care, working together with his highly motivated team, to ensure best outcome, in a caring and relaxed environment. 

Paul is a sculptor, painter and singer songwriter (www.paulabro.com), and a practitioner of Hot Yoga. 

David Novis attended the Wits University  receiving his Bsc (Dent) in 1980 majoring in Comparative Anatomy & Physiology, and graduating  with BDS in 1984.
From 1985-2002 he was in private practice in La Rochelle, Johannesburg with an emphasis on paediatric dentistry.
 
 

David’s skills are focused on general preventative & restorative dentistry, including prophylaxis (scaling & polishing), fissure sealants, fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges, implant restoration, dentures, root canal therapy, whitening & minor oral surgery including wisdom teeth. Sedation can also be arranged with a qualified anaesthetist.

David has taken over the practice of Dr Mervyn Rosenberg.

Keep a look out for David on the music scene; he plays as a semi-professional drummer and keeps fit cycling and at the gym.

Dr Abedian studied Dentistry at University of Pretoria from 2013-2017. She achieved top 10 in her final three years, taking the spot of 8th in her class of 62 graduating dentists. She achieved 4 distinctions upon graduating in the subjects of oral surgery, oral pathology, restorative dentistry and patient management. Her skills are focused on general preventative and restorative dentistry, including cleanings, fissure sealants, fillings, veneers, crowns, bridges, root canal treatments, whitening and minor oral surgery.

Dr Abedian then studied Aesthetic Medicine at the American Academy of Aesthetic Medicine from 2018-2019, completing a diploma in Aesthetic Medicine. She is qualified to provide treatment of Botulinum ToxinA and dermal fillers, and stocks a range of skincare products to advise patients on their homecare routine.

Her philosophy is centred around treating patients holistically and comprehensively.

Dr Abedian is also an Active Aligner provider.

I have qualified with a Diploma in Oral Hygiene at the University of Western Cape.
I have been in Private Practice for the past 25 years and am currently employed by
Dr David Novis and Dr. Paul Abramowitz.

I am passionate about what I do and always hold my patients with high regard. I am an outdoor person, love hiking, reading, cooking and spending valuable time with my children.
